Summary: Nuvi is built to empower you with personalized nutrition awareness. Your meal photos, body metrics, and diary entries belong to you. We protect your information with industry-standard encryption, and we never sell your personal data to third-party data brokers or advertisers.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how Nuvi ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use our mobile application (Application ID: com.nuvi.app, available on Android and iOS) and associated web pages (collectively, the "Service").

By downloading, accessing, or using Nuvi, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

2. Information We Collect

We collect information to provide, improve, and personalize your nutrition coaching experience:

A. Account and Profile Information

  • Contact details: When you sign up, we collect your email address and display name.
  • Nutrition & Goal Profile: Information you voluntarily share during onboarding, such as your wellness goal (e.g., weight loss, muscle gain, balanced eating), country or regional dietary culture, cuisine preferences, food allergies, and dietary restrictions.
  • Physical Attributes: Optional attributes such as age, gender, height, and body weight logs used solely to estimate personalized calorie and macronutrient targets.

B. Food Logs & Visual Meal Data

  • Meal Photos: When you use our camera or photo gallery features, photos of your meals are processed to identify dishes and estimate portions. Photos are processed exclusively for nutrition calculation.
  • Food Diary: Records of your daily logged foods, meals, serving portions, calories, and macronutrients (protein, carbohydrates, fats).

C. Device Permissions

  • Camera & Photo Library: Used only when you choose to photograph a meal or upload a picture from your device gallery. You can grant or revoke this permission at any time in your device settings.
  • Notifications: Optional reminders for logging meals, hydration check-ins, or daily encouragement from Nuvi.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information exclusively for the following purposes:

  • To calculate and suggest calorie, protein, carbohydrate, and fat targets based on your goals.
  • To analyze meal photos and provide instant portion and ingredient estimates.
  • To tailor daily feedback, coaching tips, and contextual next-step recommendations through your digital buddy.
  • To display your historical food logs, daily progress, and weight trends.
  • To respond to your inquiries, customer support requests, and feedback.
  • To protect the security and integrity of our application and prevent misuse.

4. Data Sharing & Third-Party Processors

We do not sell your personal data. We only share information with trusted service providers who assist us in operating our platform, under strict confidentiality obligations:

  • AI Analysis Providers: Meal photos and meal descriptions are securely transmitted to specialized AI model providers solely for item recognition and portion estimation. These providers do not use your images for public training.
  • Secure Cloud Infrastructure: Your encrypted account details and food logs are stored in secure cloud environments adhering to modern security standards.
  • Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required to do so by applicable law, regulation, or legal process.

5. Data Security & Storage

We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your personal data against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. All data transmissions are encrypted using Transport Layer Security (TLS/HTTPS), and user records are stored with encryption at rest.

6. Your Rights and Choices

You have full ownership and control over your personal data:

  • Access and Review: You can view all logged meals, weight records, and profile details inside the app at any time.
  • Edit or Correct: You can update your profile information, dietary goals, or meal entries directly in the app.
  • Account & Data Deletion: You can permanently delete your account and all associated food diary entries, images, and history at any time through the in-app Settings or by submitting a request via our Account Deletion Page.

7. Children's Privacy

Nuvi is designed for general audiences and is not intended for children under the age of 13 (or under 16 in certain jurisdictions). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately, and we will delete the information.

8. Updates to This Policy

We may update our Privacy Policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our service or changes in legal regulations. When updates occur, we will revise the "Effective Date" at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
